Michael Towey has joined Pali Capital, Inc., the US broker-dealer subsidiary of Pali Holdings, Inc., as co-head of US Equities and is based at the firm’s NY headquarters.
Towey, 41, will work in conjunction with Kevin Fisher, president and head of US Equities, to manage all aspects of the division including overseeing the cash equities execution and fundamental research functions.
“Michael brings a deep and diverse background to Pali, both on the research and sales, and trading aspects of the business. He adds a new dimension to our management team and further strengthens our growing business,” says Fisher.
“The addition of Michael is an integral part of our plans to boost our US Equities team and expand our overall institutional securities platform. This is in line with the build-out of our domestic and international infrastructure and global growth plans,” adds Brad Reifler, CEO, Pali Capital.
Towey joins following the recent addition of six sales traders bringing the US Equities sales trading team to over 40 professionals.

Towey has worked in the equities arena for more than a dozen years, most recently at CIBC World Markets Corp. where he served as head of US Equity Trading and prior to that as co-head of US Equity Research. Prior to CIBC, Towey was director of Research at Schwab SoundView Capital Markets. Before that, he worked at Smith Barney in both Equity Capital Markets and US Equity Research.
Towey received his MBA in Finance from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and his BA in Political Science from Colgate University.
