The board of directors of Oslo Brs decided at a meeting held today to extend the opening hours for the Oslo Brs equities and derivatives markets by one hour to 5.30 p.m. CET.
The change is planned to come into effect on 1 September 2008. The decision to extend the opening hours has been made to further strengthen the exchange’s competitiveness.
On 31 August 2007 Oslo Brs sent out a consultation paper in collaboration with OMX, proposing a harmonisation of opening hours between the exchanges in Stockholm, Helsinki, Copenhagen and Oslo. The document also raised the question of evening trading, but Oslo Brs does not currently plan on offering evening trading.
