According to a report by Bloomberg News, Osaka Securities Exchange President Goro Tatsumi is keen to abandon Nasdaq altogether in favour of a tie-up with the regional markets in Sapporo on the northern island of Hokkaido and Fukuoka on the southern island of Kyushu. Nasdaq earlier this month announced its withdrawal from Japan following losses and a failure to meet new listings targets. It was expected that Nasdaq Japan-listed companies would migrate to the Osaka exchange.
