OppenheimerFunds, Inc. (OFI) Retail Retirement introduces several educational programs, including targeted, personalized communications, intended to help alleviate concerns regarding market volatility and retirement savings plans.

The initiative helps financial advisors to ensure that they continually review their plans and participants receive the assistance needed to continue working toward their retirement goals.

Specific to the Pinnacle and Record(k)eeper Pro(SM) platforms, targeted, personalized communications for participants feature customized postcards to be mailed directly to participants’ homes. The postcards highlight two messages: “Enroll today or Increase Deferral” and “Stay the Course.”

Varied themes for each message, based on plan-level customization and company demographics, further personalize these targeted communications.

“Weathering the Storm – Four Key Steps to Help Keep Your Plan on Course,” is a resource that contains steps to help plan sponsors determine how the turmoil may impact retirement plans and outlines how they can manage their fiduciary responsibility in the current environment. Through the four sections,

“Weathering the Storm” advises plan sponsors to evaluate their plan’s investments, to ensure their plan meets participants’ needs, to reexamine their plan’s fees and expenses, and to address their participants’ concerns. In addition, each section features a list of supplementary resources available through their advisors or online at companys website.

“OppenheimerFunds remains committed to delivering the best possible retirement plans,” says Gayle Leavitt, vice president, OppenheimerFunds Retail Retirement. “Considering the unprecedented volatility in the markets, it is vital that we provide tools and resources to help plan sponsors and financial advisors navigate this difficult environment, and encourage participants to review their retirement targets.”

“Many participants may be wondering how to cope with losses in their retirement accounts. We suggest that plan sponsors work with their financial advisors to develop a communication and education strategy for participants, enabling them to reach their retirement goals.”
