According to Canada’s Benefits and Pension Monitor, the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS) is creating a private equity fund that it will manage on behalf of pension funds from outside the country. OMERS will put in its own money and will receive management fees for running the fund, which is designed to be attractive to US institutions that lack expertise in the Canadian market.
