Omgeo, a major provider of global trade management services, said it has appointed Tony Freeman as Director of European Industry Relations.

Omgeo said Freeman will play an integral part in further expanding Omgeo’s relationships with industry associations across Europe, building stronger partnerships with infrastructure providers, advising the business on developments in the regulatory arena as well as leading Omgeo’s industry advisory board efforts across Europe.

“The European competitive landscape is rapidly changing and it is key for us to have strong, industry professionals such as Tony on board,” said Richard Hughes, Managing Director of Omgeo, EMEA, said. “Tony will be responsible for working with Omgeo’s European clients, industry regulators and the client advisory board, helping to execute upon our strategy in key European markets where competitive and regulatory changes are creating new opportunities for business growth.

“Omgeo believes in the importance of listening to what the industry is saying in the post-trade pre-settlement arena and Tony Freeman’s appointment is a testament to that,” said Hughes.

Freeman brings over 20 years of operational systems analysis and development experience, as well as tenure within product management. He joins Omgeo from JPMorgan Investor Services, where he held a number of positions – from Vice President of Product Management to Senior Relationship Manager for JPMorgan’s Financial Institutions Group. Prior to that, Freeman was with ISMA, the regulatory body and trade association for the Eurobond market, building the account management and sales function of the association.
