CF Odey European Trust, the Europe ex-UK unit trust, is the best-performing fund over five years. The five-year track record confirms the fund’s ranking as number one in the S & P Micropal fund universe with a return of 148.74% (compound annual return of 20% since 30th April 1997) compared to the FTA Europe ex-UK index, which has returned just 48.75%.

According to the latest statistics the fund has achieved this performance with the lowest risk profile in the sector, achieving a monthly volatility of just 4.4%. Positioned number one over three month, six month, two, four and five year performance, has continued to perform well in 2002, returning 15.64% so far, against a small fall in the markets (30th April).

Hugh Hendry, Fund Manager and Partner, said: “What has been so pleasing is the steadiness of the returns we have achieved in these volatile markets. So far this year the fund has returned 3-4% every month regardless of the index.”

David Helm, Marketing Director, said: “The fund has an excellent performance track record since inception in April 97. It is really a product reverse engineered from our hedge fund heritage and so possesses many of the risk control characteristics and yet maintains consistent performance”

Performance figures have been calculated on a bid to bid basis with net income reinvested to 30th April 2002.
