OCC’s total cleared contract volume in February rose 8% year over year, but securities lending CCP activities dropped 2%.
Total cleared contract volume reached 350,507,077 contracts at the end of the month, and year-to-date, total cleared contract volume is up 8% in 2014 with 746,102,697 contracts.
While securities lending activity did decline year over year in February, year-to-date stock loan activity is up 2%t from 2013 with 194,670 new loan transactions in 2014. The average daily loan value at OCC in February was $90.7 billion, besting the record set in January of $80.2 billion.
Cleared futures volume shot up 30% year over year in February, reaching 5,599,043 contracts, and OCC’s year-to-date cleared futures volume is now up 38% with 11,373,528 contracts in 2014.
For exchange-listed options, trading volume reached 344,908,034 in February, a 7% increase year over year, while volume is up 8% year to date.
