OCC Securities Lending Activity Rose 53 Percent in July

OCC’s securities lending CCP activities rose 53% year over year in July, bringing year-to-date stock loan activity up to a 31% increase from 2012.

Total cleared contract volume in July increased 6% year over year, and year-to-date contract volume is now 3% higher than last year.

Equity options volume rose 4% and index options volume jumped 22% year over year, bringing total options volume up 6% in July. Year-to-date total options trading volume is now up 2%.

Equity futures volume came increased 58%, while index and other futures volume rose 52% compared to July 2012. Total volume of futures increased 53%, and year-to-date cleared futures volume is up 74%.
