Jean-Franois Thodore, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of NYSE Euronext (NYX), intends to retire at the end of 2009 when he will reach 63 years of age.

Subject to regulatory approval, Thodore will remain a director of the company. Thodore, who is a member of the companys Management Committee, has served on the leadership team of NYSE Euronext since the merger of the U.S. and European exchange groups in April of 2007 and previously had been the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the managing board of Euronext since its formation in September of 2000.

The company will commence a search to find a suitable European-based replacement to succeed Thodore as Deputy CEO. Thodore will be closely involved in the search and will ensure a smooth and orderly transition.
