TietoEnator and Nottingham Building Society have signed contracts to replace a number of the Society’s core business systems. TietoEnator will be providing complete systems replacement, including web-based point of sale, application processing, account administration and back office collections and recoveries. The new infrastructure will replace the Society’s savings and mortgage system and a Unisys Smart Channel Manager.

The new TietoEnator infrastructure will enable the Society to offer more flexible products and services, structured around the relationship with each customer and their increasingly individual requirements.

“Our customers will benefit from a wider product choice, increased access via more channels and a proactive service via a more customer-focused system, as well as faster and more efficient personalised responses,” says Jack Cutts, Head of IT, Nottingham Building Society. “The Society will also achieve operational cost benefits, a result of the efficiency of the new systems compared with our existing infrastructure. We selected TietoEnator after a thorough examination of a number of vendors and their solutions. The team was very professional, with impressive industry expertise and the company’s reputation for reliable, professional delivery gave us a lot of confidence. The TietoEnator product functionality will enable the Society to further differentiate itself in the interests of delivering increased value to its members. We are projecting a very satisfactory return on investment with this project and look forward to a successful relationship with TietoEnator.”

Gaining The Nottingham as a client further endorses TietoEnator as the leading infrastructure provider for UK mortgage lenders. “Nottingham Building Society has a clear goal and well defined plan to meet its objectives,” says Linda Fisher, Managing Director, TietoEnator Financial Solutions (UK). “We’re delighted that TietoEnator has been selected for this significant core systems replacement project and we are looking forward to creating another showcase example of an efficient, competitive retail finance operational infrastructure.”

Meanwhile, TietoEnator Financial Solutions UK has announced the appointment of Tim Organ to the newly created role of Director of Solutions Development.

Tim Organ has more than 25 years experience in the banking and software sectors including holding senior positions at both Misys and Fiserv. During this time, he has worked extensively in the UK, Europe and the US and, as Project Director at Fiserv, Tim Organ set up and implemented the UK’s most successful direct banking operation, Egg. Tim Organ’s role at TietoEnator will draw on his experience of managing large technical teams and his focus will be the enhancement of the product development programme for both the collections and mortgage suite of products.

“Following the acquisition of AttentiV Systems by TietoEnator we are now entering an important and exciting period for the company in the UK and I am extremely pleased to be joining at this key time,” says Tim Organ. “The solutions development group within TietoEnator contains an enormous amount of intellectual capital that, together with the strength of TietoEnator, we will utilise to build innovative and cost effective solutions for our clients.”

“At TietoEnator, our commitment to the expansion of our product development programme is second to none,” says Linda Fisher. “Tim’s appointment will not only ensure we continue to strengthen our existing client relationships but that we continue to attract new clients with our state of the art solutions.”
