For the 15th year, Working Mother magazine has named Northern Trust Corporation as one of the “100 Best Companies for Working Mothers.” The 2006 list consists of companies judged to promote a family-friendly environment and recognise the value and needs of working families.
“Northern Trust is exceptional for its continuing commitment to working mothers, and we salute them for making the 100 Best for the 15th time,” says Carol Evans, the CEO of Working Mother Media. “Every year we see companies upping the ante, establishing new paradigms for quality of life among their employees and redefining the status quo for workplaces across the country. Among the many worth entrants, the winners really set the gold standard.”
“Northern Trust recognises the critical importance of a healthy work/life balance for all employees, and it is truly an honor to have our programs recognized by Working Mother magazine as part of their annual survey,” adds Timothy Moen, the executive vice president of global human resources at Northern Trust. “We are deeply committed to our employees’ well-being and their personal and professional development. Our work/life services are designed to meet the needs of our employees and their families for a healthy balance at all stages of their lives and careers.”
To apply for the Working Mother 100 Best, Northern Trust provided Working Mother magazine with detailed information on seven areas of work/life balance, including workforce profile, compensation, child care, flexibility, time off and leaves, family-friendly programmes and company culture.
