Northern Trust today announced it made seven new appointments to its new Minnesota private wealth office, bringing the total number of staff to eight since the company opened in Minneapolis’ IDS Center earlier this year.

“We are fortunate to have such highly experienced and deeply committed professionals serving our clients in the Twin Cities,” said John R. Bultena, president and CEO, Northern Trust-Minnesota. “I’m particularly delighted that we’ve been able to recruit the highest calibre banking, fiduciary and investment management talent available to build our banking and wealth management business in the Minnesota market.”

Lloyd C. Nelson was appointed Vice President and Senior Private Banking Relationship Manager at Northern Trust on October 31. He joined the company’s Minneapolis office following a 20-year career with US Bank where he most recently served as managing director of its private banking family wealth division. He holds an accounting degree from Southwest Minnesota State University, is a CPA and maintains an NASD Series 65 securities license.

Jeffrey F. Lenihan was named Vice President and Wealth Strategist in June. He joined Northern Trust from Merrill Lynch where he served as the asset management division’s Midwest regional manager. Previously, he was regional vice president for MainStay Funds, the asset management arm of New York Life. Lenihan holds both undergraduate and MBA degrees from Ohio University.

Vice President and Trust Relationship Manager Frank E. Loomis joined Northern Trust in June following a 18-year career with US Bank, and most recently, Anchor Bank & Trust. His experience includes personal trust administration, investment portfolio management, and compliance, as well as business development. Loomis earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Minnesota and his law degree from Hamline University School of Law. He is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association, the Hennepin County Bar Association, the Minneapolis Estate Planning Council and the Minnesota Planned Giving Council.

Dana R. Strong joined Northern Trust as Vice President and Portfolio Manager also in June. With a 20-year career as an investment professional, he previously served as a senior investment officer with both US. Bank and U.S. Trust. He earlier held positions with Marquette Capital Management and The Leuthold Group. Strong is responsible for providing discretionary and advisory investment management services to fiduciary, personal and institutional investment clients.

Kathleen C. Strombeck, previously a Private Banking Relationship Manager at Northern Trust in Chicago from 1982 to 1992, rejoined the company in June as second Vice President-Private Banking. Strombeck is responsible for developing and managing client relationships by providing a full range of private banking deposit products and credit services, including custom mortgages. She has over 20 years of combined experience in lending, relationship management and business development.
