Northern Trust has hired David P. Kalis, CFA, to serve as lead manager of its Mid-Cap Growth Equity team of Northern Trust Global Investments (NTGI).As Senior Portfolio Manager and Senior Vice President, Kalis is responsible for fundamental mid-cap growth products. In this role, he reports to John S. Cole, head of active growth equity investments for Northern Trust Global Investments.

The Northern Trust Global Investments Mid-Cap Growth team has over USD330 million in assets under management as of 30 September 2006. Kalis joins Northern Trust from Segall Bryant & Hamill Investment Counsel, where he was a Partner. There, in addition to being responsible for equity research, he developed the firm’s mid-cap strategy and managed several highly ranked mutual funds. Kalis received a B.A. in Economics from the University of Michigan and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
