Northern Trust Global Investments (NTGI), the asset management arm of Chicago-based Northern Trust Corporation, has hired Gillie Tomlinson as Director of UK Consultant Relations. Tomlinson joined NTGI on 1 March 2006 from Artemis where she was Head of Institutional Business Development for two years. Prior to Artemis, she was Institutional Business Development Manager at Cazenove for eight years.

“The things that strike me about NTGI are the quality of its people and its client service culture, its broad product range, and its commitment to the institutional market,” says Tomlinson. “NTGI is unique in that it offers a full range of investment solutions from quantitative passive through to active strategies, plus manager of managers to a highly targeted investor base. The added advantages of being part of the wider Northern Trust, with its world class asset servicing reputation, are that even more opportunities can be created.”

Gordon Hogarth, Head of NTGI business development for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region, says the importance of building and maintaining strong relationships with consultants and communicating with them on a regular basis is “crucial to the continued success of our new business drive in the UK market, which is crowded and highly competitive. Gillie brings a proven track record in the UK institutional segment and we are delighted that she has joined us.”
