Northern Trust Corporation announced that Linda Walker Bynoe, principal, president and chief executive officer of Telemat Ltd., was elected to its board of directors today at the company’s annual meeting of stockholders. Bynoe succeeds Robert A. Helman, who retired from the board.

“Bob has served Northern Trust with distinction as a Director for 20 years,” said William A. Osborn, Northern Trust Chairman and CEO. “He has made significant contributions to our growth and success during his tenure, and we are all very grateful for his service and dedication.”

Bynoe is currently President and Chief Executive Officer of Telemat Ltd., a project management and consulting firm in Chicago. Prior to joining Telemat in 1989, she held various executive positions in the Capital Markets Division of Morgan Stanley from 1978 to 1989. Bynoe worked in public accounting from 1975 to 1978, obtaining her license as a Certified Public Accountant in 1978.

Bynoe, 53, received her B.S. degree from Northeastern University and her M.B.A. degree from Harvard University Graduate School of Business. Bynoe currently serves on the boards of Anixter International Inc., a distributor of communication infrastructure products; Dynegy Inc., a wholesale power generator (until May 17, 2006); Fidelity Life Association, a mutual insurance company; Prudential Retail Mutual Funds, a diversified fund complex; and Simon Property Group, Inc., a real estate investment trust engaged in the ownership and management of retail real estate.
