Northern Trust has made a series of appointments to its institutional sales and client service teams.

Shaun Flavin has joined as head of North American institutional sales, with specific responsibility for asset servicing sales, global custody and transition management for North American-based institutional investors.

Flavin previously held several senior leadership roles at BNY Mellon.

Andrea Perry has also been appointed as a senior client relationship manager at Northern Trust Canada for the Atlantic region, where she will be responsible for institutional investor and asset management firms.

Prior to her new role, Perry spent 30 years in the investment industry and is a former president and current member of the CFA Society Atlantic Canada and member of the Association of Canadian Pension Management.

In addition, Nigel Colgan and Johnson Har have joined Northern Trust’s institutional sales teams in London and Hong Kong respectively.

Colgan, who previously spent 26 years at BNY Mellon, has taken up a newly created role as senior technology sales consultant for the EMEA region.

In his new role, Colgan will focus on engaging with asset owners and managers across the region.

Har joined Northern Trust as an institutional sales manager with a specific remit to work with asset owners and managers across China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and South Korea.

Previously at SS&C Fund Services, Har has spent over 10 years in business development and client relations roles for asset management, fund servicing and financial technology firms in the Hong Kong market.

“These appointments will drive our momentum and proactive approach in supporting the evolving needs of clients, through advanced operating models and scalable technology designed to deliver an optimum transparency and data governance experience,” said Penelope Biggs, head of strategy, corporate and institutional services at Northern Trust.
