Northern Trust has been selected by Scottish Investment Trust, one of the U.K.’s oldest investment trusts, to provide global custody and depository services for assets valued at $1.4 billion.

The appointment of Northern Trust comes as asset managers and trust companies continue to the demands of a changing regulatory environment.

“As the industry continues to evolve in response to ongoing regulatory change we understand there is an increasing demand for transparency and work closely with all our clients to ensure they receive the highest level of fiduciary oversight,” says John Cargill, head of depository services, EMEA, Northern Trust.

Scottish Investment Trust aims to provide investors, over the longer term, with above-average returns through a diversified portfolio of international equities and to achieve dividend growth ahead of UK inflation.
