Premier Pension Services (PPS), a division of JLT Benefit Solutions Limited (JLT), says that Nigel Manley has been appointed Head of Premier Pension Services, JLT’s Self Invested Pensions Solutions (SIPP) business. This appointment takes immediate effect.

“Nigel has been with JLT for more than 12 years and has a wealth of experience in pension and benefits market and also has a great understanding of the IFA market,” says Duncan Howorth, MD, JLT Benefit Solutions. “He will lead the future growth of the business with the support of the Premier Executive team – Eddie McGuire, Jamie Murphy and Patrick Evans. This appointment will allow Eddie McGuire to focus on the sourcing of institutional business and supporting the subsequent integration”.

Manley himself notes that Premier has just concluded a contract to assume responsibility for Friends Provident’s Small Self-Administered Scheme portfolio. “This deal adds around 250 schemes to our business and puts our targets for the year well within reach,” he says. “It is also an important development in our relationship with Friends Provident. The purchase of this portfolio reinforces our belief in the future of SSAS as an effective planning tool for many clients running their own business.

Our recent announcement of reduced fees and IFA commission on SSAS takeovers has added further weight to our market position. Developing our Self Invested Pensions Solutions business is a core part of our future strategy. SIPPs remain a high growth area in the pensions market and one in which we wish to play an important role. We are well on course to re-launch a new SIPP offering in the fourth quarter of this year.”
