Nick Thomas, the London-based securities lending chief at RBC Global Services, has re-joined former colleague Paul Stillabower at HSBC Securities Services.

Thomas joins in the new position of Head of Specialised Sales, responsible for developing securities lending, foreign exchange and cash management business with new as well as existing clients. He will report to Stillabower, who is Head of Business Development, Europe.

At RBC Global Services Thomas was most recently responsible for building and managing both the European and Asian securities lending, global foreign exchange and cash management services for institutional clients. Prior to joining RBC Global Services in 1997, he worked in RBC’s Capital Markets/Treasury division.

HSBC says Thomas brings with him proven expertise in such areas as enhancing dividend yields for offshore investors and the lending of European government fixed income securities, plus experience of managing forex settlements for custody and fund administration clients.

“We are absolutely delighted that Nick is joining HSBC,” says Stillabower. “His proven skills, experience and outstanding technical knowledge will be a great asset to the business and enable the bank to further enhance its clients’ experience in these important ancillary product areas.”
