Nick Roe is departing Citi to pursue other interests, the investment bank has confirmed.

Roe, who previously ran Prime Finance and Futures, became head of investor services EMEA following a realignment of Citi’s securities and fund services business in January 2014. This realignment led to the creation of a new investor services group, which includes custody, prime finance and global fund services, within the new Markets and Securities Services group.

In this new role, Roe was given oversight of custody, fund services and long only and alternative investor services, reporting to Okan Pekin, who was named global head of investor services as part of the reorganization. Both Roe and Pekin are based in London.

Additionally, as part of the reorganization, David Murphy, who has been with Citi since 2011 was appointed global head of Prime Finance in New York. This includes Prime Finance, Delta One and Agency Securities Lending. Murphy previously ran Prime Finance in North America and in Asia.

Roe joined Citi in 2005 to develop the International Prime platform and was appointed as global head of Prime Finance in 2008, with additional responsibility for Futures in late 2009. He was instrumental in developing the bank’s Prime Finance and Futures franchises globally.

After a stint in business technology with Merrill Lynch, he joined Morgan Stanley in 1986 and held roles in Convertibles and Warrants and on the CFD Desk. He joined the newly formed prime finance department and helped to develop and establish Morgan Stanley’s product and services. In 1999, Roe moved to Deutsche Bank to run Prime Finance Sales in EMEA, becoming the global head of Sales in 2001, the head of European Prime Finance in 2002 and the global head of Prime Finance in 2004.

A memo seen by Global Custodian says Roe will remain with the firm to facilitate an orderly transition. The bank is yet to announce a replacement. The memo says Citi will announce his replacement in due course. Investor services EMEA will be covered by Pekin until then.
