Nick Golding will be the newest addition to Piper Jaffray Co.’s expanding Financial Institutions Investment Banking Group, the company announced Tuesday.

Golding’s hire as managing director follows a series of expansions in the group, including Michael Gebo, who heads the insurance practice and Thomas Chen, co-chair of the Financial Institutions Investment Banking Group.

Operating out of New York, Golding will head the financial technology and services practice.

“We are excited to further expand our financial institutions group with this important hire in the financial technology and services area,” says Jon Salveson, head of Investment Banking at Piper Jaffray. “Nick comes to Piper Jaffray with tremendous experience and knowledge in the financial technology industry, and we look forward to his contributions as we aim to be the primary advisor for our financial services and financial sponsor clients.”

Before joining Piper Jaffray, Golding worked in the financial institutions group at Credit Suisse where he completed more than 20 transactions in six years, totaling more than $6 billion in deal value.
