Philippe Teilhard has stepped down from his role as global head of Prime Brokerage at Newedge.

He departs after 20 years with the company, having worked with Fimat before it merged with Calyon Financial to create Newedge in January 2008. During this time he built the prime brokerage business at Newedge into a leading global franchise. Teilhard will continue to work with the company as a consultant.

Teilhard’s departure follows the introduction of a new organizational structure at Newedge during the last year. In a statement emailed to GlobalCustodian.com, the company said: “We will now be evolving further this structure by combining the clearing sales & PTG (professional trading group) business line with Prime Brokerage to form a new group called Prime Clearing Services (PCS), headed by Chris Topple. This move will deliver great synergies for Newedge that will translate into real benefits for clients.”

Topple is currently head of clearing sales & PTG.
