Reech Capital PLC has appointed Mark Weller to the newly created position of head of international hedge fund sales. Based in London and reporting to Paul Dackombe, Weller will be responsible for driving the international sales of Reech Capital’s analytical and risk management expertise to the hedge fund industry. He joins on 25th March.

Weller joins Reech Capital from SS&C Technologies in London where he marketed front office solutions to the firm’s hedge fund and family office clients across Europe. Prior to this, he worked for Standard Bank and Bank of America where he established domestic currency and fixed income trading in Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe.

He began his career (in 1990) at Chase Manhattan Bank in London where he held a number of roles over a seven-year period. Latterly, he was responsible for running Chase’s proprietary position taking in Eastern Europe, during which time he worked in Chase’s overseas offices in New York, Moscow and Istanbul.

Christophe Reech, chief executive of Reech Capital, said: “By recruiting Mark Weller we are combining his strong sales experience and his knowledge of foreign markets with our own derivatives and risk management expertise to increase our focus on the hedge fund market. He will be promoting all our services to hedge funds, including RiskHedge, our specialist ASP risk engine that was launched in January this year.”
