Omgeo announced today that it had promoted Scot Knight, currently executive director, Global Product Management, to be managing director of the Americas region – including the United States and Canada. In addition, James Casey will expand his current role of managing director, Global Marketing to managing director, Global Product Management and Marketing. Bob Nicholson will take on the role of chief knowledge officer for Omgeo.

“I am very pleased to announce these exciting changes at Omgeo,” says Adam Bryan, president and CEO of Omgeo. “I am certain Scot and Jim will provide the leadership and vision to advance Omgeo’s position as the leading provider of global trade management solutions. Bob’s new role will provide our organization with strategic direction surrounding the valuable knowledge processes that will continue to improve our business results.”

In this new role, Knight will lead all regional operations in the Americas, including client-facing functions, marketing, sales, and client services. While leading Global Product Management, Knight directed the development and launch of Omgeo Central Trade Manager (Omgeo CTMSM). He has worked at Thomson Financial (one of Omgeo’s parent companies) since 1988 and has participated in a variety of roles including general manager and deputy managing director of what Thomson Financial at the time called Technical Data Europe and Thomson Trading Services. In these roles and throughout his tenure at Thomson Financial, Knight has managed all unit operations including sales, marketing, production, client services and providing strategic direction to a variety of businesses as they evolved their client offerings. Knight also was a Boston executive trading specialist at Fidelity Investments.

As managing director of Global Product Management and Marketing, Casey is charged with championing the voice of the client in Omgeo’s products and services. Since joining Omgeo 18 months ago, Casey has led the launch of Omgeo and its services to the securities industry. Before joining Omgeo, Casey was vice president of marketing at BuyerZone.com and head of marketing for Primark (now owned by Thomson Financial). His efforts at Primark surrounded its financial information services including Worldscope, Extel, Datastream, Disclosure, AT-Financial and PIMS. Casey has 10 years of product management background including experience at Charles Schwab (TeleBroker and Street Smart services) and CompuServe (Education, Reference, Media, Entertainment and Living channels).

In his new role as chief knowledge officer – a new position – Nicholson will be responsible for the leadership of information management and sharing across Omgeo. In this role, he will work to develop knowledge management processes and practices that contribute to and improve the company’s overall business results. Nicholson joined Omgeo in May 2001 from the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) where he was managing director of sales for DTCC’s New Ventures Group. He was responsible for developing and implementing the sales strategy for DTCC’s products and services, including DTC TradeSuiteSM (now Omgeo TradeSuiteSM) straight through processing solutions. Nicholson has over 25 years experience in the investment software and services marketplace and has worked extensively with financial institutions to implement decision support and analytical systems. He joined DTCC from Sequent Computers, where he led the Data Warehousing consulting practice.
