A new investment consulting and advisory firm came into being in the United States today. Its founders say it is being established to “avoid the risks and biases present in many segments of the institutional investment consulting industry.”

Investment consulting veteran Adrian Anderson led the formation of North Point Advisors LLC, which will provide consulting, advisory and asset management services throughout the US.

The firm is affiliated with The McHenry Group, a consulting firm with an established practice in the pensions arena. As a co-founder and investor, McHenry will provide North Point with business management and business development support.

North Point’s inaugural clients include the City of Detroit Police and Fire Pension System (served by North Point’s investment consulting practice), as well as ABN AMRO Retirement Services, IBM and the Atlanta Regional Commission.

Joining Anderson is Cindy Hargadon, formerly Chief Investment Officer at ICMA Retirement Corporation and The National Auto Dealers Retirement Trust (NADART). She was also President of the Stable Value Investment Association.
