SmartStream Technologies has named Thomson Reuters veteran Peter Moss as CEO of its Reference Data Utility (RDU).

Moss had spent 25 years with Thomson Reuters, most recently leading its financial division, a global business with $6bn in revenue.

He also established the Thomson Reuters Enterprise business, responsible for data and technology operations for the Financial Markets business.

The RDU is an industry-formed data management service, established by Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, Morgan Stanley and SmartStream, aimed at delivering reference data for regulatory reporting and trade processing.

“This is an exciting time for the RDU as we deliver the service for our customers. Industry demand for a reference data managed service has been significant and I can see excellent market potential for the RDU across a broad range of industry participants. I am delighted to take on this opportunity.”
