Rainer Ritter has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Namibia Financial Institutions Supervisory Authority (NAMFISA) with effect from 1 March 2006. This follows the departure of Franz van Ransburg, the previous CEO.

NAMFISA is responsible for the registration, monitoring, supervising and regulation of pension and retirement funds and non-banking financial institutions like Unit Trusts Management Schemes, the Stock Exchange and Investment (Asset) Managers in Namibia.

The new CEO has extensive experience in the private and public sectors and served in numerous advisory and consultancy capacities, including the Standing Committee on Economics and Finance of the NCCI (Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry) and the Aquaculture Council.
