New Additions at Omgeo Board from Barclays and BNP Paribas

Omgeo, provider of global trade management solutions, announced the addition of Michael Brown, managing director at Barclays Global Investors Limited, Europe and Jacques Philippe Marson, president and CEO of BNP Paribas Securities Services, as industry representatives to the Omgeo Board.

Omgeo, provider of global trade management solutions, announced the addition of Michael Brown, managing director at Barclays Global Investors Limited, Europe and Jacques-Philippe Marson, president and CEO of BNP Paribas Securities Services, as industry representatives to the Omgeo Board.

The appointment of Brown and Marson increases the total number of Board members to 11.

McGrail, Omgeo’s Chairman. “Their extensive backgrounds in the global securities industry will help ensure that Omgeo is responsive to industry needs as it upgrades its clients to a new more efficient trade processing model.”

At Barclays Global Investors, Brown is responsible for the management of operations, technology, and administration for Europe. Prior to moving to London in 1997, he was responsible for the firm’s global custody, clearing, and securities lending operations. Brown joined Barclays Global Investors in 1988 to establish operations in San Francisco. Previously, Brown held various management positions from 1982 through 1987 at the US investment banking firms of Montgomery Securities, Alex Brown & Sons, and Lehman Brothers.Additionally, Brown serves on the Securities Steering Council, an advisory forum to the board of Directors of S.W.I.F.T. and he also participates in a number of other industry forums.

At BNP Paribas Securities Services, a fully owned subsidiary of the BNP Paribas group, Marson is president & CEO and a member of the BNP Paribas Group Management Board.

He joined Paribas in July 1998 as head of Global Securities Services and a member of the Investment Bank Management Board. Previously, Marson was with State Street where he was Executive Vice President and head of Global Investor Services Group – International and Cedel (renamed Clearstream) where he was a member of the Management Board and General Manager in charge of Business Development, Operations and Treasury. Marson’s additional experiences include, work with S.W.I.F.T. and 12 years with J.P. Morgan.

Marson is a member of the Board of Euroclear, a member of the Board of S.W.I.F.T., a member of the Board of Trustee of the International Charter school of New England and he is the European Chairman of the International Securities Services Association (ISSA).
