Based on the results of the operational audit of the Association of National Numbering Agencies (ANNA) and the representatives of Wertpapier-Mitteilungen (WM), the NDC meets all requirements to the National Numbering Agency (NNA) for Russia.
The visit was organized by NDC to familiarize the ANNA Board Members and WM Representatives with the securities registration procedures and the relevant information storage system.
As a result of such familiarization with NDC’s activities and its positioning in the industry as a major settlement depository on the Russian stock market, ANNA and WM representatives have come to the conclusion that NDC’s structure and activities, its personnel, information resources, and technical means and facilities meet all the requirements established for National Numbering Agencies, while NDC is ready to function as NNA and to allocate International securities identification numbers (ISIN and other) to the securities, registered for circulation in the Russian Federation
During the meetings of ANNA and WM representatives and the Russia’s major market players, as well as the representatives of the governmental bodies and organizations, a positive opinion supporting the hand-over of all the functions of the NNA for Russia was formed.
The functions of allocation of ISIN codes to the securities are declared in the conception of the Federal law On a Central Securities Depository.
