NatWest Trustee and Depositary Services (NWTDS) has extended its partnership with Alpha Real Capital, providing depositary services to its Long Income Funds range.

Under the terms of the agreement, NWTDS will act as the depositary for over £3 billion in asset value across Alpha’s fund range. This includes a £2.1 billion index linked income fund which invests in portfolios of UK ground rent assets.

Alpha is a specialist real assets investment manager focused on secure income strategies, investing in UK and European assets with secure long-term cash flows.

Luke Speakman, relationship director at NWTDS, said: “We are delighted that Alpha has appointed NWTDS to provide depositary services to its flagship fund. This new mandate is testament to the ongoing service we already deliver to other key Alpha managed funds and Alpha’s trust in NWTDS as a commitment partner. We look forward to continuing our long- term relationship with Alpha and to providing our expertise on behalf of the fund’s investors”

Mark Rattigan, chief operating officer of Alpha Real Capital, added; “We are delighted that NWTDS, a strong credit institution with the regulatory permission to act as a depositary, is partnering with us for our Index Linked Income Fund, and this mandate will expand the relationship. We have been very pleased with the high level of service NWTDS has provided over many years for our other managed funds, ensuring robust safekeeping of assets and responsible oversight duties for the benefit of all our stakeholders.”

The deal marks the third mandate win for NWTDS this year, following deals with Beechbrook Capital Fund and Foresight Sustainable Forestry Company. Beechbrook is a specialist direct lender which focuses on investments in SMEs across the UK and Europe, while the forestry fund aims to combat climate change through forestry and afforestation carbon sequestration initiatives.
