NASD introduced Wednesday a series of free video Web casts aimed at compliance professionals who are looking to better understand key regulatory.
The first video of what the NASD calls the “What to Expect” series outlines what firms should expect before, during and after an NASD examination and also offers guidance in making the process more efficient.
Though the video could be useful to all NASD-registered firms, NASD says, this first one in the series is aimed primarily at firms on a four-year examination cycle.
Of the more than 5,100 securities firms currently registered with NASD, approximately 3,000 are on a four-year examination cycle. About 800 low-risk firms undergo routine NASD examinations each year.
Over the next year, NASD says it will add videos to the series, with installments focusing on enforcement investigations, U4/U5 disclosures, written supervisory procedures, advertising reviews, the handling of customer complaints and corporate finance filings.
