The NASD has collected a record $102 million in fines in 2004, more than triple the 2003 amount.
In 2004, the NASD reported 1,360 new disciplinary actions filed, compared to 1,410 in 2003; 1,293 resolved, compared to 1,324; 23 firms and 450 individuals expelled, compared to 30 and 494; 4 firms and 380 individuals suspended, compared to 7 and 333; and $102 million compared to $33.3 million in disciplinary fines in 2003.
