MUFG Investor Services has added two new executive directors with decades of asset servicing experience to its London office.

Lizzy Buss joined as executive director of EMEA sales from State Street after three and a half years. The bulk of her career was spent at UBS in prime services, where she operated for six years.

Buss will direct the sales and growth of MUFG Investor Services’ asset servicing solutions to investors and managers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. She will report to Oliver Scully, head of EMEA sales.

In addition, MUFG also hired Cliodhna Murphy as an executive director for product development.

Murphy joins from UK hedge fund Man Group, where she served under various roles including business manager for GLG Credit, head of investment management services and head of investor operations. Prior to this, she was the chief operating officer for the funds platform of start-up asset manager Decura.

Murphy will primarily work on the single manager and fund of hedge fund lines of business, and she will also oversee other areas that span all lines of business including ESG. Murphy will report to Mike Dickey, global head of product development

Both new appointments will be based in London.

It’s been a busy start to the year for MUFG Investor Services when it comes to new additions. The asset servicer began 2020 on a high, naming Global Custodian Hall of Famer and Deutsche Bank’s former global head of agency securities lending, Tim Smollen, as its global head for global securities lending solutions.

Smollen brought a team with him to MUFG to support the growth and development of its securities finance franchise.

In addition, the Japanese custodian has appointed Dr Hans Jacob Feder from JP Morgan as global head of FX services and Alberto Baptise from BNY Mellon as head of FX sales.

The moves have come under the leadership of John Sergides who was appointed CEO of Investor Services in January 2019. Earlier this year, Global Custodian wrote a feature documenting his first year at the helm.
