MUFG Investor Services has hired securities services expert Daniel McNamara as chief strategy officer where he will help support and shape the fund administrator’s long-term growth.

McNamara will be based in London and report to John Segides, the New York-based CEO of MUFG Investor Services.

He will have oversight of the capital and resources devoted to its six business lines, focus on the delivery of new client solutions, and developing a set of standards and best practices regarding products and services in order to deliver on its strategy and business development goals.

McNamara joins from Deutsche Bank where he was most recently digital business development officer and general manager for its payments business.

In this position he was responsible for leading the development, implementation and commercialisation of financial technology opportunities for that business.

During his 20 years in securities services, he also served as head UK custody and clearing, head of investor services solutions and head of strategy for intuitional cash management and securities services for the German bank in London.

“Daniel’s appointment reflects our commitment to developing new solutions to improve MUFG’s platforms and help our clients remain both competitive and efficient when faced with the increasingly challenging business conditions,” said Segides.

In July last year, MUFG Investor Services hired David Sarfas as global head of private equity with 25 years’ worth of experience, and Oliver Scully as head of EMEA sales, both in London.
