Morley Fund Management, one of the UK largest fund managers, has appointed James Tanner to the new position of managing director, distribution. He will report to Morley’s chief executive officer Keith Jones and will also be appointed to the Morley board.

Tanner will direct Morley’s distribution activities in the UK and internationally. His direct reports will be Alan Gadd, managing director, UK and European retail and Alistair Morrison, managing director, institutional.

Tanner was most recently managing director, institutional sales, global markets, EMEA at HSBC. Between 1983 and 2002, he worked for Morgan Stanley in London, New York and Hong Kong where he held a number of roles including managing director, head European investment management business and managing director, head international private client group, Asia.
