Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management has appointed Jon Mallon as Regional Sales Manager for Latin America, and hired a team of five investment professionals to serve high net worth Brazilian clients and institutions in the Latin American market.

Reporting to Ernesto A. de la Fe, Managing Director and Head of Latin America, Mallon will be responsible for the oversight and ongoing sales management of the newly opened Private Wealth office in Miami, and his role will extend throughout the Latin American region. The newly hired team will be based in Miami and includes four Investment Representatives: Executive Director Bruno Gorgatti, Executive Director Walter Alves, Vice President Carlos Chamon, Vice President Alexandre Filizola and Sales Assistant, Aderson de Almeida.

They join from Lehman Brothers with combined assets of $600 million, and will report dually to Messrs. Mallon and de la Fe.

Mallon started his career with Morgan Stanley in 1992 as part of the structured products team serving the Private Wealth Management Division. He was later transferred to the Firm’s London office where he focused on expanding the Private Wealth effort in Europe. After six years in various senior roles at Lehman Brothers, Mallon rejoined Morgan Stanley in January 2007. He earned a Certified Financial Analyst designation and received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Bucknell University.

Gorgatti has a total of 13 years experience in the Brazilian and U.S. financial markets. He received his M.B.A. from Thunderbird, the Garvin School of International Management.

Alves has a total of 12 years experience in the financial market. He received his M.B.A. from Thunderbird, the Garvin School of International Management.

Chamon has been working in the financial market for 7 years. He received his M.B.A. from Darden Business School in Virginia.

Filizola has been in the financial market since 1991. He received his M.B.A. from the University of California at Berkley.
