Independent prime broker GPP has added a long-serving Morgan Stanley prime brokerage executive to its rapidly-growing team.

Andrew Rae-Moore has joined GPP as an executive director after spending more than 18 years on Morgan Stanley’s prime brokerage desk.

He sat within the bank’s institutional equities division, most recently rising to chief operating officer (COO) of client coverage. Rae-Moore also worked as an analyst on the bank’s international equities desk in New York.

In his new role, Rae-Moore will work alongside GPP’s COO, Todd Johnson, to drive the growth of its prime brokerage business. He will be responsible for building new client relationships to support the industry’s emerging hedge fund managers with GPP’s comprehensive prime broking solutions.

His appointment follows a number of recent senior additions to the GPP team including the addition of Tiffany Roberts joined as head of compliance in April. In January James Parker joined as chief risk officer and Johnson as COO.

“Andrew has impressive experience from his time on Morgan Stanley’s prime brokerage desk, with expertise spanning custody, securities financing, derivatives and clearing services,” said Julian Parker, CEO, GPP.

“His client relationship skills and the knowledge he has gained from a range of management roles will be invaluable to our hedge fund clients and instrumental to the healthy growth of our business.”

In March, GPP saw its head of prime brokerage, Sean Capstick, depart to join Cantor Fitzgerald to lead the European prime brokerage business.
