More New Faces At UBS

UBS has announced that Maurice Marchesini and Sean Minnihan will join its Investment Banking Department as Managing Directors

UBS has announced that Maurice Marchesini and Sean Minnihan will join its Investment Banking Department (IBD) as Managing Directors in its Financial Institutions Group (FIG). They will report to Gary Howe and Halle Benett, Americas Co-Heads of FIG.

UBS has recently appointed Dr. Armen V. Papazian as Head of Islamic Finance, and the board of directors is undergoing change with three members deciding not to stand for another term

Marchesini, 45, will be based in Los Angeles and cover a range of Midwest and West Coast bank clients. He joins from Morgan Stanley where he was most recently Head of Financial Services Investment Banking for the Western US region. Previously, he was head of Latin America investment banking at Merrill Lynch, where he also had client coverage responsibilities for US and Latin American financial institutions. Prior to joining Merrill Lynch, he worked in the FIG group at Salomon Brothers. He holds a BBA in finance from Cleveland State University and an MBA from Case Western Reserve University.

Minnihan, 40, will be based in New York and cover financial technology and capital markets clients. He was previously with Banc of America Securities, where he was Head of the Financial Technology and Securities Group. Prior to joining Banc of America, he was a Vice President in the Financial Institutions Group at Goldman Sachs. He began his career at Salomon Smith Barney, where he worked in the Mergers & Acquisitions and Financial Institutions groups. He holds an MA in international economics and finance and a BA in economics from Brandeis University.
