Misys plc has been selected by UBI Banca International to help consolidate its international business by enabling the bank to improve business management across the group and ensure a consistent level of service to customers in Luxembourg, Spain and Germany.
The Italian bank, which was recently formed as a result of the merger between BPU and Banca Lombarda, is re-designing its international operations to increase market coverage.
The Luxembourg office will be the centre of the network, where Misys’ integrated application of Misys Midas Plus with Global Processing and Misys TI Plus, will be implemented and rolled out across the rest of the EU branches.
This should allow the bank to have a single technical infrastructure and IT team for managing the business across multiple countries and regulatory environments.
“The challenge is being able to adopt a controlled, low risk approach to the consolidation process and Misys demonstrated its capability to deliver in this area,” says Massimo Amato, managing director, UBI Banca International.
The multiple infrastructures and core systems across the international offices will be replaced by the centrally located Misys Midas Plus.
“With 49 banks now using Midas Plus, 15 of which are using Global Processing to run multiple sites, Misys is delivering results for customers through proven systems and professional services expertise,” adds Claus Schuenemann, head of sales for Europe, Misys Banking.
The multiple phases of the project will be rolled out over the next 18 months and the global processing model will give UBI Banca International the ability to deploy more group entities when required.
