Misys Banking Systems has appointed Guy Warren as executive vice president and general manager of core banking. Warren will join the company in the beginning of March. He will leave LogicaCMG UK, where he was CEO of their financial services business. Prior to that position he ran the banking practice of Unisys in Europe.

“We are pleased to secure someone with Guy’s sector expertise to lead Core Banking,” says Mike Lawrie, CEO of Misys plc. “His experience in building the financial services business at LogicaCMG into what it is today and his work prior to that at Unisys, will be extremely valuable as we take the business forward. Guy will bring fresh energy and new ideas to the company, as part of the seasoned executive team we are building. He will help develop and execute our game plan and deliver with the passion and commitment we need to ensure the business performs at a higher level in all areas.”

“I am joining Misys at an exciting time,” adds Warren. “The banking industry is experiencing good growth, which is forecast to continue. Aligned to this, banks are increasingly looking for a solutions-based approach. Misys has great strengths in its customer base and talented, experienced people, as well as strong products. I look forward to leading the Core Banking business and ensuring we make the most of our assets and the opportunities we have to capture market potential and increase the value we deliver for our customers.”
