Misys plc has been selected by UBI Banca International to help consolidate its international business.
The Italian bank, which was recently formed as a result of the merger between BPU and Banca Lombarda, is re-designing its international operations.
The Luxembourg office will be the cornerstone of the network, where Misys’ integrated application of Misys Midas Plus with Global Processing and Misys TI Plus, will be implemented and rolled out across the rest of the EU branches. The bank will then have a single technical infrastructure and IT team for managing the business across multiple countries and regulatory environments.
“The challenge is being able to adopt a controlled, low risk approach to the consolidation process and Misys demonstrated its capability to deliver in this area,” says Massimo Amato, managing director, UBI Banca International.
Using the Misys application, UBI Banca International will implement common practices across the group and take advantage of the enhanced functions it delivers. The bank will have the ability to take a central, consolidated view of risk throughout the organisation and have the information to drive more informed decision-making and business management.
The multiple infrastructures and core systems across the international offices will be replaced by the centrally located Misys Midas Plus.

The multiple phases of the project will be rolled out over the next 18 months and the global processing model will give UBI Banca International the ability to easily deploy more group entities when required.
