Microsoft Corp. announced Monday its choice of Ian Warford to oversee its capital markets in Europe, Middle East and Africa as an industry manager.
The appointment comes at a time when attention paid to capital markets is increasing amid evolving European industry regulations.
In his new role, Warford will serve as an industry specialist, helping financial institutions to address concerns such as MiFID, algorithmic trading and high-performance computing.
Prior to his Microsoft appointment, Warford was director of Industry Solutions at Sybase, Inc. in New York.
