Michelle Grundmann has been appointed head of J.P. Morgan Investor Services in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, Global Custodian understands. She most recently was the managing director of BNY Mellon Asset Servicing in Germany.

At J.P. Morgan, Grundmann replaces Oliver Berger, who is moving to London to head EMEA Prospect Sales for the firm.

In 2003 she joined ABN Amro Mellon and headed the Frankfurt location from 2004 on. She also served as chairman of the supervisory board of BNY Mellon Service KAG and managed BHF Asset Servicing as it was being merged with BNY Mellon.

Before joining BNY Mellon, Grundmann was managing director and COO of Merrill Lynch Investment Managers KAG in Germany and was head of Operations for the German depotbank business at Chase Manhattan Bank AG in New York and Germany.

Along with her new role at J.P. Morgan, Grundmann is also becoming a member of the local management committee of J.P. Morgan in Germany and member of the board of J.P. Morgan AG. She will report to Karl-Georg Altenburg, SCO of J.P. Morgan Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and Francis Jackson, head of Investor Services EMEA.

The depository banks of J.P. Morgan in Germany and Switzerland together form one of the largest global custodians in the region, Altenburg says. We are very happy that Michelle, with her extensive experience, will be heading the business and will continue the successful development we have seen together with Oliver Berger during the past seven years.
