Wachovia Securities announces that Michael Phalen has joined its Investment Banking division as managing director. Based in Charlotte, he will report to Joe Kennedy, managing director and head of Retail Investment Banking.
“Mike brings a tremendous amount of restaurant experience to our firm,” says Kennedy. “His experience as CFO at Krispy Kreme uniquely positions him to deliver top-notch solutions to our clients and to help meet their needs. Mike will be a great asset to this platform.”
Phalen has more than 15 years of experience, including over a decade of restaurant industry experience. He comes to Wachovia Securities from Oppenheimer, where he most recently served as managing director. Prior to that, he spent four years as the CFO at Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. Phalen also worked at CIBC World Markets and Deutsche Banc Alex. Brown. He holds a master’s in management from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School at Northwestern University.
