Alain Dupierre has been appointed as regional manager, and will cover the French institutional and wholesale funds markets, as well as French-speaking Switzerland and Monaco.
He will report to Stephen Haswell, managing director of Continental European sales based in Munich.
“We have seen significant growth in our Continental European business in recent years, with 30% year-on-year growth in sales in 2007. Our French business has been integral to this growth, with significant fund distribution and sub-advisory relationships. We are confident that Alain will build on this solid foundation and grow our French business even further in coming years,” says Haswell.
Dupierre joins MFS from HSBC Investments in Paris where he was an international relationship manager covering Luxemburg, Switzerland, France and Monaco. Prior to this he worked with the equity capital markets team at Merrill Lynch in Paris. He is an economics graduate from the Sorbonne.
The Paris office of MFS opened earlier this month and will service the French and French-speaking markets.
