Merrill Lynch & Co. has appointed Brian Canniffe and Eddie Guillemete to run its prime brokerage business in Asia after the departure of Melvyn Ford earlier this month, according to an internal memo seen by Dow Jones Newswires, CNNMoney reports.
The memo didn’t site a reason for Ford’s departure.
Guillemete will oversee the department’s sales, capital introduction and consulting, while Canniffe will oversee trading and risk-related matters, the memo says.
The two are reporting to Sylvan Chackman and Jeff Penney, co-heads of Global Markets Financing & Services in New York, as well as Yasuhiro Fujiwara, head of Pacific Rim Equities in Hong Kong.
