Mercer Investment Consulting (Mercer IC) has hired Emma Hunt as a consultant dedicated to socially responsible investing (SRI).

Hunt will join the firm on 13 June; she will be based in London, but will spend her initial four months in Toronto, where Mercer’s global SRI team is headquartered.

“More and more clients are coming to us for research and advice in this area, and we are committed to building a top-notch SRI team to assist them,” says Tim Gardener, global leader of Mercer IC.

Hunt has six years of experience working in SRI in the UK, Hong Kong, and Australia. In her new role, she will further Mercer IC_s global SRI offering by contributing to SRI research efforts, helping clients to develop individual SRI strategies, and integrating SRI issues into more traditional investment consulting assignments.

“Emma brings numerous years of experience and a global perspective to this position, making her an important addition to our SRI team,” says Jane Ambachtsheer, who leads Mercer IC_s global SRI business. “We are very pleased she has agreed to join us.”

Hunt’s most recent position was with Forum for the Future, a London-based sustainability think-tank, where she headed the Centre for Sustainable Investment. She has a bachelor_s degree in European business studies, and a master_s degree in environmental technology from Imperial College, London.
