Mellon Financial Corporation’s asset servicing business has appointed Steven Lane as Client Relationship Executive.

With 24 years experience in the financial services industry, Lane joins Mellon from Citigroup and Citibank where he was Vice President and GTS Relationship Manager responsible for managing major client relationships in the UK and Europe, with a particular focus on the Middle East. Prior to joining Citigroup and Citibank, Lane held senior global custody operations positions at Bank of New York and State Street Corporation.

In his new role, Lane will report to Lawrence Langenhan, Head of Client Relations within Mellon’s asset servicing business development team, and will be based at the firm’s London office. Lane’s primary responsibility will be to focus on managing major client relationships of Mellon’s fund accounting and transfer agency businesses.

“Mellon is regularly recognised in independent client surveys as one of the industry’s best in class’ providers when it comes to product excellence and client satisfaction,” says Langenhan. “Steven’s appointment is a critical element of our continuing strategy to enhance our reputation by sharpening our focus on client-tailored service excellence. I am thrilled he has joined us and I look forward to leveraging his exceptional knowledge in this area.”

Steven Lane added: “These are exciting times for Mellon as it combines its business with the Bank of New York and I am delighted to be playing a role in its future. Mellon’s asset servicing business has an outstanding reputation for client care and has experienced significant growth in the last few years; I look forward to further building on that success.”
