McDonnell Takes Over From McCabe as MD of HSS, Ireland

HSBC has appointed Tony McDonnell as the new managing director, HSBC Securities Services, Ireland.

HSBC has appointed Tony McDonnell as the new managing director, HSBC Securities Services, Ireland.

McDonnell takes over from Brian McCabe who has left HSBC.

He will be responsible for running the HSS operation in Ireland and growing its book of business. Tony will report to Arjun Bambawale, head of HSBC Securities Services, Europe.

McDonnell was previously regional head of Asset Managers – Europe and North America, Sales and Business Development, HSBC Securities Services where he developed and implemented sector strategy and plans for HSS across all products and solutions.

He joined HSBC Ireland in 2002, becoming head of Business Development for HSSI in 2007, before taking on a European role as regional head of Alternatives Europe, Sales and Business Development, HSBC Securities
Services in 2010.

McDonnell says; “The business has transformed in the time that I have been here and I look forward to leading us forward into the next phase. I believe that the funds industry here in Ireland can be a catalyst for significant economic growth in the coming years and it is my intention that HSSI be a key part of that.”
